The Hush Hush Saga are fantasy books, with fallen angels, nephilim and non-humans. It's a story about the war between heaven, hell and everything in between. And of course, it's a full on impossible love story. It has all the elements to be the perfect teen book: fantasy, love, mistery and good looking teen lead characters. Still, Becca Fitzpatrick made a saga that, according to my opinion at least, it's very well written and takes you to be completely invested in the story, to love it just as much as she does and to get all emotional every time something bad happens to Nora or Patch. Or Vee. Or Scott.
You can tell how much thought she, the author, put into creating a story that had so many parts and riddles. To have so many turning points and game changes that you can barely stay on your feet long enough to prepare for the next punch. Everything ends up connected, in one way or another, and you can tell that she didn´t just sat down and wrote whatever came up to her.
The best books are those you can't put down for hours because the story is just too good to get away from. The kind of stories that make you have to stop, just for a second, and take a deep breathe to calm you down. The stories that once they are over, and there's no follow up, nothing left on the saga to jump to, you sit for a while and stare at the book... what are you supposed to do now? You can't possibly move on! You are invested in the story and it's your's. No discussion.
Personally, I love to be obsessed. I love to be obsessed over a TV show and watch all the seasons in a week, or be obsessed over a book or a saga and not sleep for days until I get to the end. This tipes of books may not be classics or amazing revelations but they are really fun to read, they take you to other worlds and allow you to have other lives that you definitely haven't experienced before. The trick is to find good books, good fantasy stories that get you obsessed but still knowing that there's more thought to it than just writting a book everyone will like.
To sum up, I think the Hush Hush saga are really good books, the second one ("Crescendo") was my least favorite one but the last one ("Finale") blew me away, and I got completely obsessed over them, unless that wasn't clear enough.
